Go to the Microsoft website and order yourself a retail version of Windows on a USB stick. No issues from there, install on any computer, one time, only one activation at a time. Installed on the latest homebuilt computer. Software, as always for Microsoft is buggy at first, but patches are out now and the glitches are further and fewer between. I like the layout of the desktop and start menu. It runs well on my Asus M599 Pro board with an AMD FX 8350 processor. Power on to desktop is under 30 seconds with no overclocking. I’ve experienced several crashes, BSODs but it comes back up after a minute or two every time. It gives you the best of windows 7 with the interface of 8. Also, the scratch-off that covered the product key scratched off just fine, although I used a dime instead of my fingernail. I installed this and it seemed to activate without a problem. A few days later, now it says it’s not activated because the product key was already used on another device.
If you buy this you will eventually return it. Keyforrest should screen the companies selling through them better. This product is not sold by Microsoft. You’re probably wondering, β€œWhat’s the difference? β€ Once the operating system is downloaded and installed, I’ve noticed that the United Kingdom version changes the spelling of certain words and some other settings slightly. I need to go back to the old windows 8.1 which I do not have a disk to hopping that Best Buy will be able to help with that. Microsoft says the product that I bought here is no good. I need to get refund or get new disk. Even if i do until I get an 8.1 I can not install it. I would suggest not getting this at all, may cost me more to get to where I was without an upgrade. I have purchased from this link on multiple occasions without any issues. Reinstalling Win 10 Pro 64-bit from a different purchase worked fine. The same nVidia drivers installed without a problem. Microsoft has a long history of attempts to β€œfind itselfβ€, with intermittent success. DOS was a great success, despite its limitations.
The product page most Clearly states that this is ONLY for Windows 10 Home users. That it is an upgrade if you ALREADY HAVE Windows 10 Home and WANT Windows 10 Pro. IT’S YOUR FAULT IF YOU CAN’T READ A PRODUCT DESCRIPTION before buying, but don’t make Microsoft look bad when you buy the wrong thing. The product key that I received was already in use, and therefore failed to activate.To anyone reading this, I recommend calling Microsoft support and following their help system to the activation center. The customer service representative was extremely helpful and we were able to get my product activated within ~15 minutes of me realizing the one provided by keyforrest had already been stolen. Installed Windows like it should. I didn’t install with touch screen, so no review input there. I have been building PC’s since the early ’90’s, so no tech support required here. The stability rating I will assume means how well Windows run. That is subjective as I have seen Windows 10 run like a scalded dog and I have seen them run like a sloth. I built this PC using medium hardware. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either and she runs great like that dog that got scalded. I also am an IT expert, so I know how to keep a computer running smooth.I only buy Windows when I build a PC for someone, or when I build me a new one to run alongside Linux. I only keep Windows on a machine to keep current so I can fix other people computers. If you are computer savvy in any way, I would recommen
