Built my new rig with do disk drives. I installed it easily with no issues at all. You need to use Microsoft media creation tool for some repair issues.
I did, and upon opening the package, I had my doubts about it’s authenticity. The disk wasn’t the usual MS DVD with holograms and such. Instead it was a simple screen printed disk that had a few smudges on it. The package did look legit for an OEM product but when I tried to install, the validation number given in the packaging wouldn’t work. Yes, I know I could have mis-entered the code - but after the bazillionith time trying it I determined it simply wasn’t valid. After doing some research, I found I wasn’t alone. I returned it. Bought a retail version. Yes it was $199 but at least it’s legit. Must stress that it is an OEM version so should only be used on new PC builds. I built a new PC and then installed windows 10 with no problems. It isn’t packaged as the picture as that looks like the retail version, but you receive a plain OEM package with the DVD and license number to stick on the back of the machine. I love windows 10, it’s easy to install and it has excellent dual monitor support. The only thing I don’t like is forced updates but I can understand why it’s that way. First off, dont be that moron that posts reviews about the actual operating system. You might find the OS more functional. Intuitive if using on a touch screen. Some of the settings don’t make sense for a desktop/mouse user. What can I say - I ordered the Windows 10 Home Edition - usb flash drive. Received instead Windows 10 Pro on a disc. This was not a problem for me, since I simply imaged the disc to a flash drive and installed on the laptop. The most important thing is that the Product Key was valid and worked no problem. This is a cheaper alternative to downloading from the Microsoft Website. I built a brand new computer from scratch - new motherboard, CPU, memory and 2 new 1Tb hard drives. The Windows 10 software simply would not load onto a brand new system. I purchased the key today but it will not work to upgrade windows home edition. The link provided in these Q/A will not provide an iso. I have sent a message to the seller band will remain optimistic that they will reply with a solution, however the KEY is Useless so far. I did not bother to read the reviews here before making this purchase, since I assumed they were reviews of the product - Windows 10 Pro 64. Not that it mattered much, since the text on that page is in a tiny font, and is illegible without a magnifying glass. There is plenty of white space around the text. Whoever designed the package could easily have used a larger font, but chose not to.When I looked for the Windows 10 installation key, I found - nothing! Fortunately a poster here mentioned that you have to scratch off the square patch of silver coating on the β€THIS IS NOT A COAβ€ sticker to reveal the key beneath. How many calls has Microsoft received from customers who did not know that they had to scratch off the silver coating? It peels off. While I was eventually able to get Windows installed and activated, it does not surprise me that so many purchasers here decided that this was not a legitimate Microsoft product. I cannot believe that this package was ever tested before release. Whoever designed this monstrosity belongs in a different line of work. So I can only re-install windows 10 home. Windows 10 is much better than Windows 8 for sure and I like it. I was putting off upgrading my PC from ancient old Vista so I finally went and got Windows 10. What a night. Day difference! No more hang ups, screen freezes, or lag. Web sites DL lightning fast now, not to mention pictures and videos. It was very easy to install with the flash drive. Just plug it in. Follow the directions. I DLed it to a new HD so there wasn’t any trouble at all. Plus it only took about 20 minute
