Deserves maybe 2 stars… Needed for the old mans PC which was registered to me. - Be aware - you may need to go into BIOS and re-arrange the boot settings so it boots from USB rather than Hard Disk - if you have a copy of Windows already installed that you want to blank. Worked, installed drivers using Driver Booster and everything was working.
Half the time I forget I even made the switch. I was hesitant at first, but I’m really loving Windows 10 now. I DO recommend buying a version and doing a clean install on a new hard drive over the upgrade, as it went much more smoothly than the laptop that I upgraded. This would have been well and good - right up until the forced updates botched a patch that corrupted my OS’ boot sector.
The 1 star rating is posted because Windows 10 is garbage. If you have Windows 7 on your machine stay there until Microsoft forces you to move. Maybe the product will be better by 2020 when they stop supporting Windows 7.
Only thing you need to worry about at this point is driver support, but that shouldn’t be a problem going forward. I didn’t loose any programs on my computer. Straight forward installation. Came with key code, good to go. Bought this for a new PC build.
I located a few tutorials via YouTube to turn off various settings to increase privacy and have been very happy with it. I game a lot with it. Have had no problems. This Windows 10 was easy to install. Worked perfect when I was rebuilding my brothers laptop for him. Worked exactly as intended after downloading the ISO file and burning it to a disk. Simple give it the code that is sent to you by this and there you go, activated copy of Windows 10. But now Microsoft has the Surface. Lumia lines of devices. Their utter dishonesty and thuggish behavior in involuntarily downgrading millions of computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is just reprehensible. Where is Europe in their duty to put Microsoft out of business. As of Tuesday last week, the Get Windows 10 app β€œupgradesβ€ thousands of computers per day without their owners’ consent. I’m still annoyed that I had to buy this. Microsoft would not accept my prevous windows product ID for an upgrade. However, Windows 10 does really seem to be huge leap forward from Win7 - so far so good. Looking at these reviews i was praying i didnt get one where the activation key was already used but i had no issues. I get a message saying this product key has been used on another device, and it says to buy a genuine copy of Windows. The photo is the message I received.
