I don't have much use for most of the paid features, but the 10 file maximum and losing the ability to export to .step are big hindrances, personally. Now you can only have 10 documents, export has been substantially limited, a lot of CNC functionality is gone, etc. Is STEP the best format to export to if we're considering moving to another program? Fusion 360 is my first CAD package so I don't have a lot of experience. Just want to make sure I get my files in the most compatible format for possible change of software. I initially started with FreeCAD. Was completely overwhelmed. I feel like , with what I know I can transition to one of the other free tools. I'm not aware of any "free" version of commercial software that has recovered from being crippled, certainly not to this extent.
On the other, somebody may find the paid version cost-prohibitive and may look for an alternative piece of software without this bit of information.
