All my older software installed fine. I’ve had no BSODs due to the OS. I have Microsoft Home on my Desktop Computer. I followed the instructions. Tried to install. After about 80% loading, there was an error message that it could not install. I tried the process again and now I am getting an error message that the code is invalid. DVD appears to be valid however that is ALL you are paying for here, just the disc. You will have to pay for and license it separately to activate and actually use the software. Not as bad as Vista, but still not worth even the price I paid ($0). Uninstalled after less than a week. The MS Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, OEM DVD arrived today BUT IS MISSING THE ACTIVATION KEY!!! I need an Activation Key code to continue using the product. I paid $99 just to remove the sign-in screen on Windows 10 by upgrading the key with this Windows 10 Pro Upgrade. Now, I don’t have to type in a pin or password just to use my MSI GE75 Raider gaming laptop at home. Still better than non window os options. But it definitely feels like a step away from computing. A step towards using my phone. Prefer the older versions like windows 7. No issues with activation-cheaper than buying direct from Microsoft. Difficult to download. Activate but once completed very satisfied. Used and required by my company for safety purposes vs Microsoft Home edition which I already had and paid for. Tried to upgrade, but the installer doesn’t run and it causes blue screen. Inserted the USB prior to powering the device on. Then followed the easy on screen prompts. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, arrived fast worked perfectly. It was a nightmare trying to download this to my computer. It kept freezing at certain points and when I finally got it completed I had an issue where it created a defaultuser0 account that had a password I didn’t know. Then it decided to try and log into an administrator account that was disabled. Long story short it took way too long to get this going on my computer. I kinda regret buying this for the price that was listed for me, when I built my PC I had tons of problems with it and it took me around two or so hours to get it all sorted out. It’s Windows 10 so you either like it or you don’t but the USB was fast to set-up. The USB flash drive is the way to go these days.
But the included key is useless.The activation key is hidden by a scratch off area label. The scratch off label wasn’t positioned correctly, and after scratching it occluded two sections of the activation code. Support from Microsoft on this issue is hidden behind a $499 incident report paywall. After spending a few hours trying to guess the illegible characters I finally gave up. I didn’t even end up using the disk that came with it.I am not sure why there are so many review that claim that the software key does not work well. Perhaps there is a small chance that this could happen but hopefully they would give you your money back.I used this key to install Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro 2017 using Apple’s Bootcamp tool. It didn’t take too long. Was very easy to install. It is clearly stated that a Requirement is that you have Windows 10 Home, not any other version of Windows. I went to do updates in Jan 2018. It tells me I have not activated product. And now there is nothing I can do about it. Guess it is time to talk about another product and NOT thru keyforrest. All I have is a skeletal version on Windows 10 on my PC. I can’t to updates, can get into some of the program features either. There are some downloads I can not do because of this. Again I am not online very often but this should not be a problem I am worring about 6 months after the purchase. Windows 10 is one of the better versions Microsoft has ever made but, the usb flash drive I was sent could not be made to work even with help from a very nice lady from window tech support on the phone
