You might also argue that you move to cloud to reduce marginal costs of distribution, but that's arguable. $8-10 a month would be awesome, and they would probably make a ton of money using that subscription model. Based on my usage of Fusion 360 for 3d printing related hobby use, I don't see my personal usage of it being affected by any of the changes. I think only the lack of STEP export is a showstopper. The issue isn't paying, it's how much you have to pay to get in. $10-15/m for a hobby makes sense, $80/m doesn't. They see all those free users and think of them as "potential customers." They just don't realize/care that their "potential" is like $20-40 out of maybe 10% of them. And well, it's pretty hard to sell a product the the public for $20 then turn around and sell it to enterprises for $20,000.
